Certification & Accreditation
SPM Academy Certification Center is currently in the process of applying for accreditation to ISO/IEC 17024, ISO 18436-1, and ISO 18436-2 through the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
Our certification program ensures vibration analysts are skilled, qualified, and work effectively.
All certifications are developed and administered in alignment with ISO/IEC 17024 (Conformity assessment – General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons) and the technical requirements of ISO 18436-1 and ISO 18436-2.

Certification Process
Our certification process is summarized below which includes information about our examination policies, process, and content.
Certification Requirements
Objective: Ability to perform basic vibration data collection and recognize common fault conditions.
Prerequisites:
Minimum 6 months of experience
Completion of a Category I training course which has been approved by SPM Academy Certification Center
Examination: Written exam; 60 multiple-choice questions, 2 hours duration
Objective: Competence in advanced data collection and fault diagnosis.
Prerequisites:
Minimum 18 months of vibration analysis experience
Category I certification through a certification body that has been approved by SPM Academy Certification Center, or minimum 24 months of vibration analysis experience in lieu of Category I certification
Completion of a Category II training course which has been approved by SPM Academy Certification Center
Examination: Written exam; 100 multiple-choice questions, 3 hours duration
Objective: Ability to establish and manage vibration analysis programs.
Prerequisites:
Minimum 36 months of experience
Category II certification, or minimum 60 months of vibration analysis experience in lieu of Category II certification
Completion of a Category III training course which has been approved by SPM Academy Certification Center
Examination: Written exam; 100 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours duration
Certified personnel must:
Adhere to the Code of Ethics
Report any conditions affecting their competence
Complete recertification within the required timeframe

Our certification body operates under a structured Quality Management System (QMS) designed to ensure impartiality, consistency, and continual improvement.
These processes are based on ISO/IEC 17024, ISO 18436-1 and ISO 18436-2.
